Manufacturing Changes – New Pellet Size, New E1, Minor Packaging
Update – Starting May 1, 2023
Mazuri will change the pellet size of Alpaca Care from a 1/4" pellet to a 5/32” pellet. This requires a new E1# and we will remove the E1# and 4-digit code from the packaging to support our international shipments. This change may help decrease the incidence of choke and will help further clarify product offerings within the alpaca community. The quality and high-level of nutrition will remain consistent during this transition.
Alpaca Care Pellets (no name change) / 563Y:
- Available in pellet or crumble form
- Calcium and phosphorus concentration appropriate for breeding alpacas
- Contains flaxseed – A source of omega-3 fatty acids
- Fortified with yeast culture – supports feed digestibility and palatability
- Manufactured in an ionophore-free facility
- Formulated without distiller’s grains – Reduces risk of mycotoxin contamination
- Meets published nutrient requirements for New World Camelids when fed as directed
- Formulated by Ph.D. Nutritionists, in collaboration with leading alpaca specialist Dr. Norm Evans, DVM
Mazuri® Alpaca Care is a fortified feed for all ages and lifestyles of alpaca. Alpaca Care is designed to be fed with free-choice grass hay and/or pasture. If improved fiber quality or production is desired, transition alpacas to Mazuri® Alpaca Performance. If more energy intake is needed, transition to Mazuri® Alpaca Complete Life.
